BSS Engineer – Base Station Subsystems

About the role

The company is looking for a skilled BSS Engineer to install, integrate, maintain and troubleshoot Base Station equipment across GSM, UMTS, LTE and 5G networks. The role ensures high network availability and quality of service while supporting expansion and modernization projects.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission and integrate Base Station Subsystems (BTS, eNodeB, gNodeB).
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of telecom equipment.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software faults in BSS equipment.
• Support network expansion, modernization and swap projects.
• Conduct site surveys, integration and acceptance testing, and prepare technical reports.
• Monitor alarms and rectify faults promptly.
• Coordinate with RF, Transmission, Power and Core Network teams.
• Maintain documentation, site records and maintenance logs in line with OEM and customer standards.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree or DAE in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication or Computer Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in BSS installation, integration or maintenance.
• Hands‑on experience with GSM, UMTS, LTE and 5G technologies.
• Familiarity with major vendors such as Huawei, ZTE, Nokia or Ericsson.

Required skills

• Installation and commissioning of BTS/eNodeB/gNodeB.
• Preventive and corrective maintenance of telecom equipment.
• Troubleshooting hardware and software faults in Base Station Subsystems.
• Alarm monitoring and fault rectification.
• Site surveys, integration and acceptance testing.
• Coordination with RF, Transmission, Power and Core Network teams.
• Knowledge of DC power systems, battery backup and fiber optic connectivity.
• Proficiency in MS Office and technical reporting.
