Building Officer (Level 6)

About the role

The Building Officer will manage the repair and maintenance programme for residential properties owned by the Commissioner of Lands. Reporting to the Senior Administrator, Operations, the role ensures that all units, furniture and equipment are kept in optimal condition.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee repairs and maintenance of residential properties owned by the Commissioner of Lands.
• Coordinate servicing of units, furniture and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with Government of Jamaica procurement procedures and guidelines.
• Monitor project progress, prepare reports and liaise with internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Facility or Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Certificate in Supervisory Management or Management Studies.
• Minimum three years’ supervisory experience in facilities or construction.
• Working knowledge of Jamaican government procurement guidelines.

Required skills

• Project management (certification preferred).
