Business Development Manager – Freelance Platforms

About the role

FIH Consultancy is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead its growth on freelance marketplaces such as Upwork and Fiverr. Based in Islamabad, you will be the front‑facing sales engine, creating and optimizing profiles, crafting proposals, and converting prospects into long‑term clients.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and optimise FIH’s storefronts on Upwork, Fiverr and similar platforms, ensuring brand consistency.
• Monitor daily job postings, identify high‑potential opportunities, and manage a structured job‑bucketing system.
• Write tailored, consultative proposals that clearly articulate value, scope and pricing.
• Conduct initial discovery calls or messages to qualify leads and assess budget, timeline and decision authority.
• Route qualified opportunities to the founder for final pricing and scope approval.
• Track all proposals and conversions in a pipeline, reporting weekly metrics such as response and conversion rates.
• Research competitor profiles, pricing and emerging service niches to refine platform strategy.

Required profile

• Proven track record of winning clients on Upwork, Fiverr or comparable freelance platforms.
• Strong written English with the ability to produce clear, persuasive proposals.
• Understanding of freelance platform algorithms and ranking mechanisms.
• Experience using CRM or pipeline tracking tools.
