Card Operations Analyst

About the role

Card Operations Analyst is responsible for managing all aspects of day‑to‑day debit and credit card operations, including card management, reconciliation, complaint management, and timely completion of all activities. The role also identifies process gaps and contributes to improvements in service delivery and digital payments infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily card operations processes such as card management, digital provisioning, issuance, activation, and processing of return files.
• Perform daily financial reconciliation between internal bank records and payment schemes to ensure accurate settlement.
• Investigate customer transaction disputes and process chargebacks/recoveries according to network rules (e.g., Visa, 1LINK).
• Monitor card activity, manage card capturing, blocking/unblocking, and handle replacement requests.
• Track and report on KPIs, TATs/SLAs, providing data and insights for operational improvements.
• Coordinate with third‑party partners (card manufacturers, personalization entities) to monitor SLA adherence and process procurement requests.
• Support the line manager in tracking new and ongoing card‑related projects and operational development requests.
• Collaborate with Risk and Security teams to fine‑tune fraud detection mechanisms.
• Identify process gaps and propose digital payment solutions and technological advancements.
• Resolve card‑related operational issues and provide functional support to internal teams.
• Ensure audit trails meet internal and external audit standards and update departmental SOPs.

Required profile

• 4‑8 years of experience managing debit and credit card operations in banking or financial services.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of banking payments, settlement, card services, payment networks, and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines, consumer protection, and fair treatment of customers.
