Chief Accountant

About the role

Philosafy is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to build and lead the accounting and finance function for its hospitality and food‑and‑beverage businesses in Islamabad. The role combines hands‑on bookkeeping, tax compliance, and strategic financial planning in a fast‑growing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee full accounting operations across multiple business units.
• Maintain accurate general ledger and produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Execute bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Ensure compliance with Income Tax, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax and related regulations.
• Prepare and file FBR tax returns and, where applicable, PRA/SRB filings.
• Coordinate payroll processing and statutory deductions.
• Develop budgets, monitor cash flow and conduct cost‑analysis.
• Generate management reports, MIS dashboards and other financial insights.
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, banks and regulatory authorities.
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies.
• Support senior management with financial planning and decision‑making.

Required profile

• ACCA/CA (finalist or qualified), ICMA, CMA or MBA in Finance.
• 5–8+ years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
• Experience in hospitality, restaurants, cafés, retail or multi‑entity businesses is a plus.
• Highly ethical, detail‑oriented and able to work independently.
• Proactive problem‑solver with excellent communication skills.
