Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Hospital

About the role

The leading healthcare institution in Islamabad is seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer to lead the development, commissioning and operation of a world‑class tertiary care teaching hospital. The CEO will drive clinical excellence, patient‑centered care and financial sustainability while steering innovation and academic integration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, commissioning and day‑to‑day operations of a major tertiary care teaching hospital.
• Formulate and execute strategic plans aligned with institutional objectives and national healthcare priorities.
• Promote sustainable growth, digital transformation and future expansion initiatives.
• Ensure financial sustainability, operational excellence, governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
• Foster a culture of clinical excellence, patient safety, quality and patient‑centered care.
• Integrate healthcare delivery with medical education, research and academic development.
• Lead senior management teams, establishing performance, accountability and governance frameworks.

Required profile

• MBBS degree (mandatory) and preferably a Master’s in Healthcare Management, Hospital Administration, MBA or MPH.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience with national or international exposure.
• At least 5 years in a CEO, COO, Hospital Director or equivalent executive role.
• Proven experience managing large tertiary hospitals, preferably 500+ beds.
• Strategic, visionary leader with strong business and operational acumen.

Required skills

• Leadership of complex hospital operations and multidisciplinary senior teams.
• Knowledge of clinical governance, quality standards, financial management and healthcare transformation.
• Experience delivering large‑scale healthcare projects, hospital commissioning or institutional transformation.
