Chief Green Banking Manager (SVP/EVP) – Remote

About the role

The National Bank of Pakistan is seeking a senior executive to lead its Green Banking agenda. Reporting to the Group Chief IDG, the Chief Green Banking Manager will shape policy, drive sustainable finance initiatives, and embed environmental risk management across the bank’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Green Liaison Officers to integrate green banking principles and environmental risk practices throughout the organization.
• Develop, review, and maintain the Green Banking and Environmental & Social Risk Management Policy Manual.
• Design bank‑wide green banking strategies, procedures, and product frameworks for relevant business groups.
• Provide recommendations for policy and process improvements based on evolving regulations and best practices.
• Coordinate with internal groups to ensure accountability and compliance of green banking products with national and regional guidelines.
• Monitor technological and business developments to enhance current green banking practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in banking, green banking, environmental risk, or sustainability, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
• Graduation from a recognized university; a master’s degree in business administration, environmental sciences, green banking, climate change, or a related field is preferred.
• Deep knowledge of SBP Green Banking Guidelines, ESG risk manuals, and prudential regulations.
