Commercial Operations Specialist (Tender/Proposal/Contracts) Sales and Marketing

About the role

The Commercial Operations Specialist manages and coordinates commercial processes from opportunity identification through tendering, proposal preparation, contract award, and completion, providing critical support to Commercial and Sales teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate and ensure timely submission of tenders, bids, quotations, proposals and related commercial documentation.
• Review customer and tender requirements and gather inputs from Sales, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Contracts and other stakeholders.
• Support costing, pricing, commercial analysis and quotation preparation.
• Coordinate contract documentation, including review, tracking, amendments and completion.
• Maintain accurate tender, quotation, opportunity, sales pipeline, contract and commercial databases/trackers.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and ad‑hoc commercial and sales reports and analyse revenue, pipeline, pricing, tender outcomes and key commercial KPIs.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, business planning and management reporting.
• Identify and escalate commercial risks, contractual issues and compliance concerns.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Supply Chain, Procurement, Economics or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in tendering, contracts, proposal management, commercial operations or sales operations.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, Oilfield Services, Energy Services, Engineering or a technical/industrial sector is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (formulas, PivotTables, data analysis, reporting and dashboards).
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and MS Office suite.
• Experience with CRM/Salesforce (advantage).
