Community Mobilizer – VAWG Protection

About the role
The Community Mobilizer will work at the grassroots level to raise awareness of protection risks, promote prevention of violence against women and girls (VAWG), and connect survivors with essential services. This role involves regular outreach, relationship‑building with community stakeholders, and compassionate response to disclosures of violence.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct regular community outreach to raise awareness of VAWG risks and available response services.
- Facilitate individual and small‑group discussions on VAWG topics and promote survivor‑centred support.
- Mobilize community participation in VAWG prevention and risk‑mitigation initiatives using approaches such as SASA! Together and EMAP.
- Support the distribution and monitoring of dignity kits where relevant.
- Document community feedback, track program activities, and report on progress.
- Coordinate with other sector mobilizers, outreach teams, and local stakeholders to strengthen protection efforts.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols, safeguarding policies, and the organization’s code of conduct.
Required profile
- Proven experience working with community groups.
- Strong commitment to protection and VAWG programming principles, including equality and survivor‑centred support.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for leading discussions.
- Trusted member of the community with fluency in English and the relevant local language.
