Compliance Manager – AML

About the role

The Compliance Manager – AML will lead a team of Junior AML Analysts, ensuring timely and high‑quality case closures while safeguarding the bank against financial crime. You will act as a key liaison between the AML investigation team, senior management, and regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Train, mentor and guide Junior AML Analysts on systems and AML case handling.
• Achieve daily, weekly and monthly case‑closure targets while maintaining review quality.
• Monitor and analyse alerts in the SAS AML system, escalating to the Investigation Team as required.
• Provide comprehensive quality analysis for cases at the analysis stage and highlight financial‑crime risks to senior management.
• Ensure zero‑tolerance response to RCSA, QA and Internal Audit observations with proper documentation.
• Identify technology gaps and drive improvements in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Maintain all analysis records in SAS and shared drives in line with retention policies.
• Support top management, MLRO and regulatory relationship management.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of banking practices, local and international AML/KYC regulations.
• Proven experience leading AML teams or managing AML investigations.
• Ability to train and develop junior staff.
• Excellent analytical and risk‑assessment skills.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on compliance and audit readiness.
