Computer Science Teacher (Part-time, After-School)

About the role

The Computer Science Teacher will join 21st Century Learners Inc. to deliver engaging, hands‑on computer science lessons for school‑age learners in an after‑school STEAM program. This part‑time, on‑site role focuses on fostering curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking through project‑based learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver computer science lessons aligned with STEAM principles.
• Guide students through hands‑on coding and technology projects.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with program staff to ensure curriculum coherence.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
• Communicate with caregivers as needed and attend occasional training sessions.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in computer science and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development for school‑age students.
• Working knowledge of mathematics relevant to computer science topics.
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience in an after‑school or STEAM setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field (preferred).
