Customs Clearance & Trade Operations Executive

About the role

The Customs Clearance & Trade Operations Executive is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of import and export transactions, ensuring timely customs release, regulatory compliance, and cost efficiency. This role acts as the single point of ownership for all customs and trade processes within the Karachi head office.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end customs clearance for imports, coordinating with customs authorities, clearing agents, freight forwarders and logistics partners.
• Handle customs audits, inspections, notices and post‑clearance verifications, resolving queries and disputes.
• Monitor changes in customs regulations, tariffs and trade policies and assess their impact on operations.
• Optimize clearance timelines and costs by identifying bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate import trade operations from order receipt to final delivery, ensuring compliance with local and international trade regulations.
• Track shipment schedules, vessel/flight movements and delivery timelines to minimize demurrage and detention charges.
• Manage Letter of Credit (LC) and trade finance operations, including opening, amendment, negotiation and closure for both imports and exports.
• Maintain accurate documentation, tracking and reporting of all trade transactions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in customs clearance and international trade operations.
• Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, sanctions and licensing requirements.
• Excellent coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify process improvements.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple transactions simultaneously.
