Cybersecurity Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Specialist to join a global information services leader on a contract basis. The role is fully remote and focuses on identifying and exploiting vulnerabilities across networks, web applications, and APIs to strengthen the client’s security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive manual and automated penetration tests on network, web, and API assets.
• Run vulnerability scans, analyze results, and prioritize security weaknesses.
• Develop custom exploits and proof‑of‑concept attacks to validate risk.
• Document findings in detailed reports with remediation recommendations.
• Work closely with engineering and security teams to triage issues and verify fixes.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret technical data.
• Excellent written communication to convey complex findings clearly.
• Experience working in fast‑paced, remote contract environments.

Required skills

• Penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, Metasploit.
• Scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Knowledge of security frameworks: OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, CIS benchmarks.
• Understanding of network protocols, Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles.
