Data & Governance Specialist

About the role

National Foods Limited is seeking a Data & Governance Specialist to manage day‑to‑day data governance activities. Reporting to the Head of IT Governance & Cybersecurity, you will ensure master and transactional data across the organisation remain accurate, complete and compliant with internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and maintain data governance policies, standards and procedures for key data domains (customer, vendor, material, pricing, employee).
• Maintain the data ownership and stewardship register and follow up with data owners on data creation, maintenance and quality.
• Monitor data quality in SAP and connected systems against KPIs (completeness, accuracy, duplication, timeliness) and drive corrective actions.
• Process and validate master data change requests (MDM) following approval workflows, segregation‑of‑duties and audit‑trail requirements.
• Build and maintain data‑quality dashboards for business and IT leadership.
• Track data governance and IT risk registers, ensuring mitigation plans are executed.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities, preparing evidence and following up on observations.
• Support IT security activities related to data assets, including access controls and classification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Statistics or a related field.
• Experience in data governance, master data management or data quality within an enterprise environment.
• Strong understanding of data privacy and information‑security requirements.
• Ability to work with business and IT stakeholders to resolve data issues.
