About the role

OMNI ACADEMY & CONSULTING is looking for a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) in Rawalpindi to manage, maintain and optimise its database systems. The role covers database security, reliability and availability, and supports business applications. The position is full time.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and optimise Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to improve efficiency.
• Perform database configuration, customisation and ongoing maintenance.
• Manage database backup, recovery and disaster recovery processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database performance and query-related issues.
• Implement and support Change Management processes for database environments.
• Develop and maintain database automation scripts where required.
• Perform advanced unit testing to ensure database reliability and performance.
• Ensure database security, integrity and availability.
• Collaborate with development teams on application deployment and database integration.
• Stay up to date with emerging database technologies and best practices.

Required profile

• BS in Computer Science, B.E. in Software Engineering or BCS.
• Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator.
• Strong experience in database configuration and customisation.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools, technologies and development methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
