Department Manager – Fruits & Vegetables

About the role

The Department Manager for Fruits & Vegetables will oversee all aspects of the produce area, ensuring optimal stock levels, attractive presentation, and smooth daily operations. Reporting to the Chief Executive Manager (CEM), you will lead a team of store associates to meet sales targets and maintain high standards of cleanliness and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the CEM with stock ordering and maintain optimum inventory levels.
• Lead store associates in mass merchandising, shelf and stock management, and department cleanliness.
• Drive productivity improvements and support the Floor Manager in achieving sales goals.
• Execute night‑time mechanizing of the department following Dark Store Operations (DSO) protocols and ensure readiness before store opening.
• Ensure product presentation aligns with planograms and secondary displays follow BMPL guidelines.
• Adhere to SOPs, compliance policies, and uniform standards.
• Conduct QA checks, track expiries, and apply FIFO principles for stock rotation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or Intermediate qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in retail or grocery department management.
