DevOps Engineer

About the role

Paymentology is looking for a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the infrastructure that powers its global, multi‑cloud payments platform. You will work across development, staging, and production environments to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for cloud resources.
• Maintain and optimise AWS cloud infrastructure for performance and reliability.
• Deploy, configure, and operate container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Set up and manage event‑streaming clusters using Amazon MSK and/or Apache Kafka.
• Build, maintain, and monitor CI/CD pipelines that automate build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Create automation scripts to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
• Implement monitoring, observability, and incident‑response processes.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to promote shared ownership of system reliability.
• Apply security best practices throughout the infrastructure and CI/CD processes.

Required profile

• Strong experience with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and IaC tools.
• Hands‑on expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
• Proficiency with event‑streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka or Amazon MSK.
• Solid background in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to write automation scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) and troubleshoot complex stack issues.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools and incident management.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
