Director, Priority Banking (South)

About the role

The Director, Priority Banking (South) will lead the strategic growth of the Priority Banking business, focusing on acquisition, retention and deepening relationships with affluent and high‑net‑worth clients. The role is responsible for expanding the portfolio, enhancing customer experience and delivering sustainable revenue growth across banking and wealth products while ensuring governance and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Drive strategic growth of the Priority Banking portfolio through acquisition, retention and deepening of affluent client relationships.
• Deliver sustainable growth in deposits, investments, wealth‑management solutions and overall portfolio profitability.
• Develop and execute client acquisition strategies to attract emerging affluent and private‑banking clients.
• Identify cross‑sell and upsell opportunities to increase customer wallet share across the bank’s product suite.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, risk‑management standards and internal governance frameworks.
• Monitor market trends and competitor activities to uncover new business opportunities.

Required profile

• 10+ years of banking experience with significant exposure to Priority Banking, Wealth Management or Affluent Banking leadership.
• Proven track record of managing and growing high‑value client portfolios and achieving revenue targets.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related field; MBA or Master’s preferred.
• Professional certifications in Wealth Management, Financial Planning or Investments are an advantage.
