Electrical BIM Modeller – Substation Projects

About the role

The Electrical BIM Modeller will create and maintain highly accurate BIM models for substation and electrical infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with LOD standards and local utility codes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D electrical BIM models for high, medium and low voltage systems, including substations, transformers, switchgear and grounding.
• Extract 2D shop drawings, schedules and documentation from BIM models in line with ISO 19650 and project BEPs.
• Perform clash detection and coordinate multidisciplinary models to resolve design conflicts.
• Update models based on design revisions, RFIs and site feedback, maintaining version control.
• Apply naming conventions, file structuring and CDE protocols for consistent data management.
• Support quantity take‑offs and material scheduling through accurate data extraction.
• Conduct internal QA/QC checks to ensure model accuracy and completeness.
• Collaborate with engineers, BIM coordinators, designers and site teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of BIM experience, with at least 1 year of on‑site coordination.
• Strong technical knowledge of substation electrical systems and utility standards (DEWA, SEWA, TAQA, TRANSCO, ADDC/ADWEA).
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
• Familiarity with ISO 19650, LOD specifications and BIM Execution Plans.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.
