Electrical Engineer – Hardware (Project‑Based)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our hardware team on a project‑based basis. You will work remotely from Pakistan, collaborating in real‑time with our US engineering team to design, analyze, and document analog, digital, and power circuits for thermal printer products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and modify analog, digital, and power circuits, including high‑pin‑count processor integration.
• Create schematics and production‑ready PCB layouts (4–6 layers) using Altium Designer.
• Evaluate and source component alternatives; manage BOMs of 300–500 parts.
• Perform design calculations, circuit‑level analysis, and support FCC, CE, and UL certification documentation.
• Review First Article Inspections, analyze field failures, and recommend corrective actions.
• Release Gerbers and complete design documentation for manufacturing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an HEC‑recognized university.
• 3+ years of hands‑on circuit design and hardware development experience.
• Strong electronics fundamentals and a passion for building hardware projects outside of work.
• Excellent written and spoken English for real‑time collaboration.

Required skills

• Altium Designer – schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Analog and mixed‑signal circuit design.
• High pin‑count processor placement and routing.
• BOM management for 300–500 component designs.
• Familiarity with FCC, CE, and UL compliance.
• Experience with thermal printer or similar electromechanical products (preferred).
• Power‑supply design (AC/DC converters, DC/DC regulators).
• Stepper‑motor drive circuitry and thermal‑print‑head electronics.
• Serial interfaces: RS‑232, USB, Ethernet.
• Contract manufacturer workflows – FAI review, Gerber release.
