Electronic Engineer – Product Development / R&D

About the role

Tilco Technology Lab is seeking a motivated Product Development / R&D Engineer (Electronics) to lead the design, prototyping, and testing of smart consumer electronic products from concept to production. The role combines hardware and firmware innovation to solve real‑world engineering challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Lead research, design, and development of new smart electronic products and improvements.
• Develop embedded firmware for microcontroller‑based systems using C/C++, including real‑time functions, peripheral drivers, and communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART).
• Design, prototype, test, and validate PCBs for consumer devices.
• Perform hardware prototyping, component selection, circuit debugging, and system integration.
• Develop and test analog and digital circuits to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.
• Conduct product validation, troubleshooting, and root‑cause analysis during development.
• Support rapid prototyping, including PCB CNC milling and prototype fabrication.
• Create and maintain technical documentation such as schematics, BOMs, firmware docs, test reports, and engineering change records.
• Research emerging technologies, components, and industry trends to drive innovation.
• Collaborate with mechanical, sourcing, and production teams to ensure successful product execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in product development, embedded systems, or R&D engineering.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
• Self‑motivated attitude with the ability to work independently on research and development tasks.
