Excel Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an Excel Specialist to join a leading financial services firm on a contract basis. The role is fully remote and focuses on building robust financial models, automating reporting, and ensuring data integrity across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex Excel financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
• Create automated reporting solutions using VBA macros and Power Query to minimize manual effort.
• Validate, cleanse, and reconcile financial data to guarantee accuracy.
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams to translate business requirements into functional spreadsheet solutions.
• Document formulas, assumptions, and processes for reproducibility and transparency.

Required profile

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data validation.
• Proven experience writing and debugging VBA macros.
• Strong understanding of financial modeling principles and Excel’s Power Query/Pivot tools.
• Ability to interpret business needs and deliver accurate spreadsheet solutions.
• High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
