Facilities Engineer – Operations & Maintenance

About the role

The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of client facilities, covering electrical, mechanical, HVAC, critical infrastructure and building systems. You will ensure maximum uptime for data centres, server rooms and technology spaces while driving continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage operational and maintenance strategies for electrical, mechanical, HVAC and critical infrastructure systems.
• Maintain and monitor UPS systems, battery banks, generators, ATS/STS, MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, PDUs, earthing and lightning protection.
• Create and update electrical drawings, single‑line diagrams, load schedules and technical records.
• Oversee HVAC and cooling infrastructure including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers and pumps to meet environmental requirements.
• Implement controls for BMS, environmental monitoring, fire alarm, VESDA, access control, CCTV, leak detection and life‑safety systems.
• Respond to alarms and incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Prepare scopes of work, budgets and schedules for refurbishment, upgrade and expansion projects.
• Lead vendor and contractor coordination, testing, commissioning and handover activities.
• Ensure compliance with client standards, statutory regulations, HSE requirements and audit obligations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities operations, maintenance, reliability and project delivery for critical or data‑centre environments.
• Strong background in vendor management, HSE compliance and energy management.
• Ability to develop and maintain SOPs, MOPs, asset registers and technical documentation.

• Electrical systems – UPS, generators, ATS/STS, MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, MCC, PDU, earthing, lightning protection, power monitoring.
• Mechanical & HVAC – chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers, pumps, ventilation.
• Building Management Systems, environmental monitoring, fire alarm, VESDA, access control, CCTV, leak detection, emergency lighting, life‑safety systems.
• Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), asset lifecycle planning, Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
