Finance Lead – Remote, Multi‑Country

About the role

You will own the compliance calendar for all entities, coordinating with external accountants in each country, briefing them, reviewing their output, and ensuring every deadline is met. For any new entity you will build the process from scratch and support founder decision‑making with a single monthly reporting pack.

Key responsibilities

• Manage relationships with external accountants and advisors, including fee negotiations.
• Design the accounting system, chart of accounts, and monthly reporting pack.
• Oversee banking relationships across all jurisdictions.
• Hire and manage the first direct report, starting in month three.
• Resolve a backlog of stalled asset disposals and entity wind‑downs across several countries.

Required profile

• 5–12 years of finance or accounting experience, preferably as the sole finance person or head of a small in‑house team.
• Background in small companies with exposure to multiple entities and tax jurisdictions.
• Strong commercial judgment and willingness to investigate invoice discrepancies.
• Persistence in following up with unresponsive counterparties and sharp written English.
