Financial Accountant – IFRS, GAAP & Tax Compliance

About the role

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for tracking, recording, and analysing the company’s monetary data while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes. This position works closely with external auditors and senior management to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with all regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Perform general ledger accounting duties, conduct regular account reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met and all activity is correctly recorded.
• Develop and update budgeting and forecasting models to assist management in financial planning.
• Analyze financial data for variance analysis, identifying trends and deviations for senior management reporting.
• Oversee internal controls related to accounting processes and safeguard company assets.
• Prepare and file tax returns and compliance documentation within regulatory timelines.
• Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and facilitating audit procedures.
• Manage cash flow by monitoring expenses, payroll, and other financial activities.
• Utilise ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and QuickBooks, and create advanced Excel financial models.
