Financial Controller / Senior Manager (Remote BPO Accounting & Finance)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller / Senior Manager to lead our outsourced bookkeeping (BPO) practice. This remote position requires a strategic leader with deep accounting expertise who can ensure high‑quality, compliant service delivery while nurturing strong client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day operations of the bookkeeping function, overseeing AP, AR, bank reconciliations, journal entries and financial reporting.
• Implement and monitor SLAs, KPIs and quality‑assurance frameworks to guarantee timely and accurate delivery.
• Serve as senior point of contact for key client accounts, conducting regular reviews and driving service improvements.
• Manage, mentor and develop delivery managers, team leads and staff accountants.
• Drive automation, AI‑driven solutions and technology adoption across bookkeeping processes.
• Collaborate with transformation teams to streamline workflows and optimize cost efficiency.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with 10+ years of experience, including at least 5 years in BPO or shared‑services leadership.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and bookkeeping best practices.
• Proven track record managing multi‑client, multi‑geography operations.
• Hands‑on experience with major accounting systems.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership, coaching and performance‑management skills.
