Financial Reporting Deputy Manager

About the role

Hamdard Pakistan is seeking a diligent Deputy Manager – Financial Reporting to lead the preparation and review of accurate financial statements in compliance with IAS, IFRS and statutory requirements. The role involves managing a team of five finance professionals and coordinating closely with Finance, Taxation, Treasury and other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, schedules and disclosures in line with IAS, IFRS and regulatory guidelines.
• Coordinate month‑end and year‑end closing tasks, review journal entries, accruals and ensure timely finalisation of results.
• Perform thorough reviews of general ledger accounts, trial balances, intercompany transactions and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Develop variance analyses and financial reports to support management decision‑making.
• Extract and reconcile data from ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and create advanced Excel models to streamline reporting.
• Support internal and external audits, address observations and ensure adherence to internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting precision and reduce manual effort.
• Lead and mentor a team of five finance professionals, fostering collaboration across departments.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of International Accounting Standards (IAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Experience in general ledger management, month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Proven ability to lead a finance team and work cross‑functionally.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, automation tools).
• ERP systems experience – SAP or Oracle.
• Financial reporting and analysis.
