Fitter – Plastic Injection Molding Machines

About the role

Utopia Industries is seeking an experienced fitter to maintain and service plastic injection molding machines on its Karachi production floor. The role supports continuous manufacturing by ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical components of injection molding machines, including molds, ejectors, heaters, screws and barrels.
• Troubleshoot electrical and control faults, identify root causes and apply corrective actions without disrupting production.
• Carry out preventive maintenance tasks and inspections according to schedule, logging all activities accurately.
• Assist operators during mold changeovers, ensuring proper alignment, clamping and safety interlocks.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams on continuous‑improvement projects, machine upgrades and spare‑parts management.
• Observe lockout/tagout procedures, maintain housekeeping standards and promote a safe work environment.

Required profile

• Matriculation or Technical Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial or Mechatronics engineering or equivalent vocational training.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on experience with injection molding or similar plastic‑processing equipment.
• Proven mechanical fitting ability, including dismantling, machining, aligning and re‑assembling molds and machine parts.
• Practical knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, valves, pumps and seals.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, alignment tolerances and basic electrical schematics.
