Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

At Disrupt we combine hands‑on engineering, AI tools and a disciplined delivery method to help teams build and improve software. As a Forward Deployed Engineer you will embed with a customer’s team, understand its business and take responsibility for measurable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Discover the right problem by mapping workflows, decision owners, data, dependencies and constraints, and agree on measurable outcomes.
• Build and integrate solutions, turning requirements into working software, connecting APIs, databases and third‑party systems, and adapting to unfamiliar codebases.
• Earn the customer’s trust through working sessions, clear technical explanations and support for adoption.
• Make delivery repeatable by capturing business rules, decisions and specifications and linking them to implementation evidence.
• Follow through after launch by verifying results, investigating failures, documenting the system and training users while respecting data boundaries.
• Improve the factory by identifying recurring friction and creating reusable integrations, tools or delivery patterns.
• Exercise judgement to balance customer needs with sustainable delivery, surface blockers early and make trade‑offs visible.

Required profile

• Proven software delivery experience with real‑world users and the ability to explain contributions and verification.
• Strong full‑stack engineering breadth, confident with APIs, databases and application logic, and able to debug unfamiliar systems.
• Practical AI fluency, including experience with coding agents, LLM applications or AI‑enabled workflows.
• Obsession with customer outcomes, defining success, measuring progress and ensuring value delivery.
• Systems thinking to connect people, processes, data and technology and trace root causes.
• Clear communication skills for leading conversations and writing explanatory documentation.
• Low ego and organisational awareness, able to accept feedback, share credit and disagree constructively.
• Solution‑oriented approach, taking initiative under uncertainty and delivering workable options.
