General Manager - Technical / Process

About the role

Gatronova is seeking an experienced technical leader to head the technical, process engineering, quality, reliability and technology functions across its manufacturing plant. The role covers polymerization, textile yarn, preform, utilities, powerhouse and project activities, ensuring safe, stable, high‑quality and cost‑efficient production.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the technical and process engineering roadmap for polymer and yarn manufacturing.
• Serve as the principal technical authority for polymerization, spinning, drawing, texturizing and downstream processes.
• Lead capacity expansion, product development and technology upgrade projects.
• Mentor and lead high‑performing technical and process engineering teams.
• Oversee polymerization processes (PET, PP, PS, Nylon) and ensure optimal conversion, IV control and consistency.
• Drive process optimisation across POY, FDY, PSF and staple‑fibre lines, improving yield and reducing waste.
• Provide day‑to‑day technical support, lead root‑cause analyses and improve energy, utilities and raw‑material usage.
• Lead greenfield, brownfield and debottlenecking projects, reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances and equipment specifications.
• Ensure Process Safety Management, lead HAZOP/HAZID studies and manage change assessments.
• Promote digitalisation through advanced process control, digital monitoring and Industry 4.0 solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a technical leader in polymer and yarn manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of polymerisation processes (PET, PP, PS, Nylon) and textile yarn production.
• Demonstrated ability to lead capacity‑expansion, product‑development and technology‑upgrade initiatives.
• Experience managing high‑performing engineering teams and driving continuous‑improvement programmes.
• Solid understanding of process safety, HAZOP/HAZID, Management of Change and regulatory compliance.
