Head of Mobile Development

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Principal Software Engineer to head our iOS and Android development function. The role will shape the technical vision, drive architecture decisions, and lead a large team to deliver high‑quality, scalable mobile applications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of 20+ software engineers across iOS and Android (mid to senior level)
• Define and drive mobile application architecture and long‑term technical strategy
• Oversee code quality, conduct reviews, and enforce engineering best practices
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend teams
• Plan sprints, allocate resources, and ensure timely project delivery
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical and performance challenges
• Ensure applications are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance
• Mentor, coach, and develop engineers to enhance team capability and productivity
• Establish engineering standards, processes, and continuous improvement practices
• Stay updated with emerging mobile technologies and drive innovation within the team

Required profile

• 10–14 years of experience in mobile application development
• Proven experience leading large engineering teams (20+ members)
• Strong knowledge of mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM and Clean Architecture
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and backend integrations
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications
• Strong experience in performance optimization and debugging
• Excellent problem‑solving, leadership, and decision‑making abilities
