HVAC Technician – Installation, Maintenance & Repair

About the role

The HVAC Technician ensures continuous operation of heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning and refrigeration systems across the facility. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and efficient repairs to maintain equipment performance, energy efficiency and safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the approved preventive maintenance (PM) plan for all HVAC assets according to the annual schedule.
• Prepare monthly PM schedules, maintain detailed records, checklists and service reports.
• Perform routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, filter and coil cleaning, and system performance checks.
• Diagnose and repair faults in split ACs, ventilation and exhaust systems; respond to complaints and emergency breakdowns.
• Replace defective components such as compressors, motors, contactors, capacitors, sensors, thermostats, valves and electrical controls.
• Handle refrigerant charging, leak detection, pressure testing and vacuuming.
• Install and commission new HVAC equipment and support modification or expansion projects.
• Monitor system performance, recommend energy‑saving initiatives and record operating parameters.
• Maintain daily logs, equipment history cards, spare‑parts consumption records and submit regular maintenance reports.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements and report hazards immediately.

Required profile

• Diploma/DAE in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechanical Technology or a related field.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on experience in commercial HVAC maintenance.
• Commitment to safety standards and ability to work collaboratively with administration, electrical and IT teams.
