Information Security Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Information Security Specialist to join a leading technology company on a contract basis. The position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while protecting critical infrastructure and customer data.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular security assessments, audits and penetration testing to uncover vulnerabilities.
• Develop, maintain and enforce security policies, procedures and best practices aligned with industry standards.
• Monitor security tools, respond to incidents, investigate breaches and implement corrective actions.
• Work closely with IT teams to embed security controls into system development and deployment.
• Deliver security awareness training and guidance to reduce human‑related risks.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 or CIS Controls.
• Proficiency using vulnerability scanning tools like Nessus, Qualys or OpenVAS.
• Solid knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Familiarity with compliance regulations including GDPR, HIPAA or SOC 2.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to interpret complex security logs.
