Infrastructure Project Manager

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to lead the transition‑out of infrastructure services from an incumbent managed services provider. You will own the end‑to‑end off‑boarding process, ensuring a seamless handover with zero disruption to business‑critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the overall project plan for the vendor transition‑out, covering scope, timeline, milestones, risk register and dependencies across infrastructure, network and application teams.
• Coordinate knowledge‑transfer sessions with the outgoing vendor, capturing runbooks, configurations, credentials, licensing and support procedures.
• Manage inventory and reconciliation of servers, storage, network devices, cloud resources and monitoring tools being returned or decommissioned.
• Drive cross‑functional coordination between internal IT, the incoming support model and the outgoing vendor to ensure a clean handoff.
• Track and mitigate risks related to service continuity, SLA gaps and knowledge loss during the transition window.
• Oversee vendor contract close‑out activities, including final invoicing, asset return and access revocation.
• Audit and de‑provision all vendor access rights at transition completion.
• Report status, risks and readiness to executive stakeholders on a regular cadence.
• Maintain a post‑transition support and stabilization plan.

Required profile

• 5+ years of project management experience in IT infrastructure environments.
• Proven experience managing vendor/MSP transition‑out or off‑boarding engagements.
• Strong understanding of servers, networking, storage, data‑center and cloud environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
• Excellent risk management and issue‑escalation capabilities.
• PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification preferred.
