Inventory Accountant (Remote)

About the role

The Inventory Accountant will join the Finance & Accounting team to ensure accurate inventory records, cost data, and related accounting across multiple global entities. Working remotely, you will handle everything from bill‑of‑materials details to month‑end journal entries and variance analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records across seven global warehouse locations (US, UK, AUS, EU, CA).
• Perform perpetual inventory reconciliations and resolve discrepancies between system quantities and physical counts.
• Maintain inventory subledger integrity in the ERP system and reconcile to general‑ledger balances.
• Update standard costs for finished goods and purchased components quarterly.
• Prepare and post monthly inventory‑related journal entries (receipts, COGS, reserves, adjustments, intercompany eliminations).
• Execute month‑end inventory roll‑forward and reconcile ending balances to the general ledger.
• Prepare balance‑sheet reconciliations for all inventory‑related accounts.
• Support intercompany inventory and markup eliminations during consolidated close.
• Reconcile purchase orders, goods receipts, and supplier invoices using a 3‑way match.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2‑4 years of accounting experience, including at least 1 year in inventory/cost accounting.
• Proven experience with month‑end close responsibilities such as journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Hands‑on experience with multi‑warehouse and multi‑entity inventory accounting structures.
• Strong command of Excel for data manipulation, reconciliation, and analysis.
