IT Support Technician (Campus)

About the role

The IT Support Technician will ensure stable operation of computer systems, hardware and software across the university campus. You will provide daily technical assistance to staff, resolve a variety of IT issues promptly, and help maintain optimal system performance.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain computer hardware, operating systems (Windows and Linux) and software applications.
• Provide prompt technical support for hardware, software and network problems.
• Manage IT inventory including PCs, printers, routers and peripherals.
• Perform routine system updates, antivirus installations and verify data backup procedures.
• Set up IT equipment for meetings, labs and office environments.
• Monitor network and system performance using tools such as SolarWinds and Nagios.
• Use Active Directory for user account and permission management.
• Support remote desktop services and configure VPN for secure remote access.
• Apply network configuration protocols and use Ansible for configuration management.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior IT staff and maintain detailed incident records.

Required profile

• Approximately 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.
• Solid understanding of hardware components, operating systems and network configuration.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with senior IT personnel.
