IT Technician

About the role

The IT Technician will ensure smooth operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of MariEnergies' networks, hardware, and communication systems across field locations. The role involves deploying IT infrastructure, providing end‑user support, and maintaining accurate documentation while adhering to safety and IT protocols.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain wired and wireless network devices, including managed switches, firewalls, access points, and long‑range bridges.
• Set up desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, video‑conferencing equipment and install operating systems and essential applications.
• Install and manage CCTV surveillance systems, IP‑based telephone systems (Avaya, Grandstream, Elastix, FreePBX) and related hardware.
• Monitor health and performance of IT hardware, internet connections and network devices; generate reports and escalate issues.
• Manage the IT Service Desk ticketing system and provide Level 1 and Level 2 support to on‑site users.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and network issues; repair or replace faulty components.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records of IT assets, issuance logs and spare consumables.
• Create and regularly update documentation such as network diagrams, SOPs and system configurations.

Required profile

• Graduate in Computer Science, IT or related field with at least 3 years experience, or DAE in IT/Telecom/Electronics with 5 years experience.
• Previous experience in oil & gas field or rig environments is highly valued.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA/HCNA, NSE‑4, or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, hardworking attitude.
