Legal Manager

About the role

The Legal Manager will lead regulatory and internal compliance initiatives for a fast‑growing fintech group expanding its consumer lending operations in Pakistan. Reporting to the Regional Head of Legal & Compliance, you will ensure the business meets all legal obligations while supporting commercial activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ongoing compliance with local digital‑lending, AML/CFT, consumer protection and data‑privacy laws.
• Monitor regulatory developments, prepare filings, reports and responses to authorities, and support inspections and audits.
• Implement and review internal policies (AML/CFT, KYC, sanctions, consumer protection, data privacy) and conduct compliance monitoring.
• Draft, review and manage commercial contracts, vendor agreements, employment documents and customer‑facing terms.
• Coordinate with external counsel on regulatory matters, disputes and specialised legal issues.
• Review customer disclosures, marketing materials and collection communications for compliance.
• Assist with board resolutions, statutory filings, corporate secretarial tasks and legal aspects of audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) or a related field from a recognised university.
• Solid experience in corporate legal and compliance management in Pakistan, preferably within fintech, digital lending, banking or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of local regulatory frameworks, corporate governance and compliance reporting.
• Excellent drafting, communication and stakeholder‑management skills; fluent in English.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
