Library Assistant

About the role

The Institute for Art and Culture (IAC) is seeking a full‑time Library Assistant to join its Lahore District location. You will play a key part in daily library operations, ensuring visitors can easily access materials and resources related to art, culture, and education.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patrons in locating books, journals, and digital resources.
• Handle circulation tasks including check‑outs, returns, shelving, and maintaining accurate lending records.
• Maintain an organized, accessible collection and support the physical layout of the library.
• Answer patron inquiries, guide users through catalogs and databases, and explain library policies.
• Support library programs by preparing displays, materials, and coordinating with faculty and staff.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Library Science, Information Management, or a related field (preferred) with relevant library experience.
• Foundational knowledge of cataloging basics and library management systems.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
• Attention to detail, organizational ability, and patience when assisting diverse users.

Required skills

• Proficiency with common office and library‑related software.
