Maintenance Officer

About the role

Pakistan Tobacco Company is seeking a Maintenance Officer to join its Akora Khattak plant. You will be responsible for keeping production machinery running efficiently and supporting a safe, high‑performing work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize machinery and equipment performance to minimise downtime.
• Identify issues early and implement solutions to prevent efficiency losses.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and respond promptly to critical equipment failures.
• Develop, standardise and document maintenance processes and protocols.
• Train and coach team members on correct operation and upkeep of equipment.
• Set, track and analyse key performance indicators for maintenance activities.
• Contribute to the design and execution of preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Maintain high performance under pressure and tight production schedules.

Required profile

• DAE or B‑Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2‑3 years of experience maintaining production machinery, troubleshooting and upskilling teams.
• Self‑motivated leader capable of managing contractual and unionised staff.
• Proven ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and handle recurring defects.
• Strong knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety, factory operations and engineering controls.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective trainer and presenter for shop‑floor development.
