Manager Risk Review (AVP)

About the role

The National Bank of Pakistan seeks a Manager Risk Review (AVP) to independently review SME and Commercial credit approvals, ensuring compliance with internal policies and SBP regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent reviews of credit approvals processed by Regional and Hub Heads under delegated authority.
• Perform risk‑based post‑approval reviews to verify adherence to internal credit policies, delegated limits, and SBP Prudential Regulations.
• Identify policy deviations, documentation gaps, underwriting weaknesses, and emerging portfolio risks, recommending corrective actions.
• Prepare and submit periodic risk review reports to senior management and recommend enhancements to credit policies and processes.
• Monitor timely closure of observations and implementation of corrective actions across regions and hubs.

Required profile

• Minimum graduation; Masters or relevant certifications preferred.
• At least 6 years of banking experience, with 4 years in credit risk management, credit approvals, or SME/commercial banking.
• Hands‑on experience in independent credit review, portfolio monitoring, delegated credit approval, and regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of commercial and SME credit risk assessment.
• Thorough understanding of SBP Prudential Regulations and internal credit policies.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MIS reporting tools.
