Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Wärtsilä Pakistan is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead maintenance activities at the SNPC plant in Nooriabad. The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality operation of power‑plant equipment while supporting the company’s sustainability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Set and maintain maintenance‑specific training standards for personnel.
• Prepare the annual plant maintenance plan and associated budgets together with the Superior.
• Execute tasks with minimal downtime while preserving quality standards.
• Benchmark routine activities in terms of man‑hours.
• Implement technical bulletins and service letters relevant to the site.
• Establish and apply O&M policies and procedures in line with Wärtsilä Pakistan and Wärtsilä Finland requirements.
• Supervise the mechanical maintenance team to keep plant facilities and equipment in safe, efficient condition.
• Assist in scheduling overhauls and provide outage schedules to the maintenance team and contractors.
• Manage all maintenance aspects of the power plant using total quality management, including planned and unplanned engine/auxiliary maintenance, inventory, reporting, training, spare‑parts quality, and history management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in plant mechanical maintenance.
• Strong cultural awareness, communication, teamwork, and QHSE mindset.
• Proven problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.

Required skills

• Hands‑on maintenance experience of internal combustion engines.
• Familiarity with measuring instruments used in engine overhauls.
