Mechanical Engineering Specialist

About the role

Akber Ali & Sons is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Specialist to join its on‑site team in Karachi. The role focuses on supporting the selection, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical equipment supplied by the company, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for customers across Pakistan.

Key responsibilities

• Review technical specifications and perform equipment inspections.
• Conduct diagnostics, troubleshoot issues, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and interpret CAD drawings and support design modifications.
• Collaborate with sales and service teams to provide technical input on proposals and projects.
• Plan, monitor, and execute maintenance activities and generate technical reports.
• Coordinate with equipment principals, vendors, and customers for after‑sales support.
• Deliver technical training and guidance to customers and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong core mechanical engineering knowledge with hands‑on experience on industrial or heavy equipment.
• Proficiency in CAD tools and familiarity with engineering drawings, standards, and documentation.
• Analytical mindset for root‑cause analysis and data‑driven decision‑making.
• Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and training delivery.
• Project management abilities to plan and monitor engineering and maintenance tasks.
• Experience in after‑sales service, commissioning, or maintenance support is preferred.
• Awareness of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices and relevant industry standards.
• Willingness to work on‑site, travel within the region, and operate in diverse field conditions.
