Medical Office Coordinator

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Office Coordinator to support US‑based healthcare providers. The position operates from Edge’s Pakistan office and serves as a vital bridge between patients, providers, and insurance companies in a fast‑paced medical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and manage incoming patient calls, schedule visits, and confirm appointments to optimize provider schedules.
• Tri­age inbound calls, escalate urgent clinical cases, and log all interactions accurately.
• Collect and verify patient registration and insurance details, confirming eligibility and benefits.
• Track and follow up on patient balances overdue 90+ days and handle basic billing inquiries.
• Obtain external medical records, process lab orders, upload test results, and manage prescription refill workflows.
• Monitor EHR inboxes, update patient charts in a HIPAA‑compliant manner, and maintain clean task queues.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a US healthcare administrative or medical office role.
• Willingness to work on‑site at Edge’s Pakistan office.
• Strong written and spoken English with excellent attention to detail.

Required skills

• Experience with athenahealth (Athena) and Spruce.
• Proficiency with telehealth platforms, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and digital document tools.
• Understanding of US health‑insurance basics, ICD/CPT terminology, and HIPAA regulations.
