Online Tutor – Virtual Teaching Position

About the role

Acadia Tutors, an education company based in Karachi, connects learners in Pakistan and abroad with qualified tutors for personalized online tuition and English language instruction. We are looking for an enthusiastic Online Tutor to create engaging virtual learning experiences and help students achieve measurable academic progress.

Key responsibilities

• Assess learner needs, plan lessons and explain concepts clearly.
• Deliver one‑to‑one or small‑group lessons through online platforms.
• Prepare lesson plans, activities, practice exercises and revision material.
• Evaluate understanding via questioning, assignments, quizzes and regular feedback.
• Adapt explanations and teaching strategies to individual learning styles and academic levels.
• Track student progress and communicate constructive updates.
• Maintain punctuality, professional conduct and accurate lesson records.
• Foster a positive and engaging virtual classroom environment.

Required profile

• Strong command of the relevant subject or English language.
• Experience in tutoring, teaching, mentoring or supporting learners.
• Ability to design lesson plans tailored to curriculum and student objectives.
• Effective online classroom management and confidence with video‑conferencing, digital whiteboards, screen sharing and learning platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, active listening, patience and empathy.
• Capability to evaluate understanding, provide actionable feedback and maintain progress records.
• Reliable internet connectivity, a suitable teaching environment and professional presentation.
• Good organization, time‑management and commitment to student outcomes.
