Outreach Worker (Male)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a male Outreach Worker to support protection programming for vulnerable and at‑risk communities. You will act as a vital link between communities and protection services, ensuring information and assistance reach those who face barriers accessing help.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular community‑level awareness sessions on protection, GBV, available services, rights, and referral pathways.
• Disseminate accurate, context‑appropriate protection information to community members.
• Identify individuals needing protection, GBV, MHPSS, health, legal, or other specialized services and facilitate safe, confidential referrals.
• Follow up on referrals and report urgent protection concerns through established mechanisms.
• Document emerging protection concerns, risks, and service gaps using approved tools.
• Support protection assessments, community consultations, focus groups, and key informant interviews.
• Coordinate with WGSS/Hub Center Facilitators, case workers, MHPSS staff, and other relevant teams.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, awareness sessions, referrals, and community feedback, submitting regular reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Intermediate certificate in Social Sciences, Education, Psychology, Development Studies, or a related field from an HEC‑recognized institution.
• 1–2 years of experience in humanitarian, protection, GBV, community‑based, or social development programming.
• Experience working with vulnerable and diverse communities and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good documentation, reporting, and basic IT skills; knowledge of local languages and context is preferred.
