Part‑time Remote Peer Reviewer – Metallurgical Engineering (PhD)

About the role

This is a long‑term, stable part‑time position that allows you to work remotely reviewing scholarly manuscripts in metallurgical engineering. The role is ideal for experienced researchers who wish to contribute to the scientific community while maintaining flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and originality of submitted manuscripts.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Check literature review for relevance and completeness.
• Analyse results and conclusions for clarity and scientific soundness.
• Provide constructive, clear, and objective feedback to authors.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
• At least five peer‑reviewed papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the last three years.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Commitment to confidentiality and objectivity.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review systems.
