Planning Engineer

About the role

The Planning Engineer ensures that all preventive and corrective maintenance activities are properly planned, executed and billed using SAP. You will define the optimal execution method, allocate resources, estimate time and cost, and supervise third‑party contractors to keep plant operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare work orders and work packs in SAP based on maintenance notifications.
• Develop and maintain maintenance plans, BOMs and schedules in the CMMS (SAP).
• Collaborate with operations to plan and schedule preventive and corrective tasks.
• Monitor compliance with maintenance schedules and identify performance trends.
• Prepare CAPEX estimates, arrange materials, and track expenses against approved budgets.
• Coordinate gate‑keeping meetings with engineers and line managers to ensure minimal equipment downtime.
• Raise purchase requisitions, manage inventory levels and liaise with procurement.
• Analyze and resolve day‑to‑day execution issues with stakeholders.
• Ensure strict adherence to company safety policies during all activities.
• Generate KPI reports on maintenance costs, progress, procurement status and equipment delivery.

Required profile

• Experience in maintenance planning and work order management.
• Strong understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance processes.
• Ability to estimate costs, manage budgets and coordinate with finance.
• Good communication skills for interfacing with operations, procurement and contractors.

Required skills

• SAP (CMMS) for maintenance planning and work order creation.
• Knowledge of BOM creation and maintenance plan development.
• Cost estimation and CAPEX budgeting.
• Material management and purchase requisition handling.
