About the role
Volga Partners is seeking a Principal Software & AI Engineer to lead the design and delivery of enterprise‑grade applications and AI‑powered products. The role combines full‑stack development, system architecture, and advanced AI/ML implementation in a fast‑paced, hybrid environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, architect, and develop scalable enterprise software solutions.
- Lead the creation of AI‑driven features using modern machine‑learning technologies.
- Build and maintain high‑performance backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Develop modern web applications and user interfaces with current frontend frameworks.
- Design database schemas and optimise application performance.
- Integrate third‑party services, payment gateways, and cloud‑based solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define technical requirements.
- Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers and conduct technical reviews.
- Drive architectural decisions and establish engineering best practices.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 years of professional software/AI engineering experience.
- Proven track record delivering large‑scale production applications.
- Experience working with international and remote teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor engineering teams.
Required skills
- JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, C#, Go
- Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP or similar)
- AI/ML frameworks and libraries
- RESTful APIs and distributed system design
- Frontend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue)
- Database design and performance optimisation
- Security best practices
- Agile development methodologies
What we offer
- Competitive salary PKR 600,000 – 850,000 per month (based on experience and expertise).
- Hybrid work model: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
