Principal Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and implementation of a biomedical data platform. The role combines deep backend development, data‑processing architecture, and mentorship of a growing engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable backend services using Python, Django, and FastAPI.
• Architect data‑processing pipelines, ETL workflows with Airflow, and integration with Azure data services.
• Lead and mentor a team of 5+ engineers, conducting design discussions, code reviews, and release planning.
• Own technical direction for API design, data contracts, analytics pipelines, and cloud integration patterns.
• Provide on‑call production support, troubleshoot outages, and collaborate with DevOps for reliable deployments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 6‑7 years of production‑level software development experience, primarily with Python backend systems.
• Fluent English with strong communication skills and business acumen.
